Brad Mills brings nearly three decades of baseball experience to the field, blending his “old school” approach with a deep respect for opponents and officials. With 28 years of coaching at multiple levels—from college and high school to Little League and American Legion—Brad has a wealth of knowledge and a passion for helping players grow both on and off the field.
He has coached college teams at Eastern Oregon University, American Legion squads including the La Grande SnoCap (OR), Bozeman Bucks (MT), and Twin Falls Hawks (ID), as well as high school teams like the La Grande Tigers (OR) and Canyon Ridge Riverhawks (ID). Brad has also worked extensively with youth baseball and softball, including Calgary Babe Ruth, Chestermere Crushers, Alberta Zone 2 & 7, and Team Alberta at the Best of the West Tournament. His coaching experience even extends to middle school football and girls’ basketball.
Brad himself played at a high level, spending two years each at Lewis-Clark State College and Eastern Oregon University. His playing career is highlighted by accomplishments such as being a Montana State Champion in Babe Ruth baseball, earning MVP honors at the state tournament, being named Montana American Legion All-Star, and receiving All-Conference and All-District honors at Eastern Oregon University. In 2014, his contributions were recognized with induction into the Eastern Oregon Athletic Hall of Fame.
For Brad, coaching is a way to stay connected to the game he loves. He especially enjoys watching players advance to higher levels and seeing former athletes become successful coaches themselves.
Outside of baseball, Brad is retired from school systems in Oregon and Idaho. He has been a fan of George Brett, Nolan Ryan, and Ichiro Suzuki, and has supported the Toronto Blue Jays since moving to Canada. When he’s not on the field, Brad enjoys a good steak and watching The Godfather.
Brad also cherishes his memories of playing baseball in Alberta, including participating in the first American Legion game in Canada in 1981 and playing for the Lacombe Dodgers in 1984—the summer he also met his future wife.
