Cam Young Assistant Coach, 18U BAEL Prep

Cam Young brings a blend of Cubs pride, athletic experience, and academic excellence to the 18U BAEL Prep coaching staff. Now entering his third year of coaching, Cam has quickly become known for his strong baseball IQ, and genuine commitment to developing young athletes.

Cam’s connection to the Calgary Cubs runs deep. He played in the program from 15U all the way through high school, building lifelong friendships, earning the respect of his coaches, and laying the groundwork for the player and leader he is today. His journey through the Cubs ultimately helped launch him into college baseball, where he currently plays for the University of Calgary Dinos in the CCBC. As an infielder, his focus on precision, consistency, and smart decision-making translates directly into his coaching style.

A proud Chicago Cubs fan, Cam brings that same passion for the game into every practice and game day. His athletes appreciate his approachable style, and ability to break down complex skills into clear, teachable moments.

Off the field, Cam is equally dedicated to his academic path. He is currently pursuing a dual degree in Chemical Engineering and Business at the University of Calgary—an impressive workload that reflects his discipline, work ethic, and drive for excellence.

Cam is excited to continue giving back to the program that helped shape him, and he’s committed to guiding his players to become stronger athletes, smarter competitors, and confident young adults both on and off the field
