Dayton Dansereau is an Assistant Coach for our 13U AAA team. Dayton brings both heart and passion to the game of baseball. A former Calgary Cubs AA 18U player, Dayton understands the game from the inside out and draws on his own playing experience to guide the next generation. One of his proudest moments in baseball came in 2025, when he helped lead his team to a championship win at the Webber Wildcats Father’s Day Tournament.
Now in his second year of coaching, Dayton has worked at the Little League level, where his focus extends far beyond wins and losses. His coaching philosophy centers on creating a fun, positive environment where players can learn new skills, build confidence, and develop strong values that will carry with them both on and off the field.
Dayton originally wanted to start coaching to deepen his own understanding of the game and to experience the reward of watching players grow and progress. Over time, coaching has taken on a deeper meaning. He now coaches in honor of his father, Patrick—his very first coach—and strives to pass along the same love of the game that was given to him.
Outside of baseball, Dayton works at LIDS and is a dedicated fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as his favourite player. His enthusiasm for the game is contagious, and his commitment to his players is evident every time he steps on the field.
Dayton is a wonderful addition to our coaching team. "Let’s go Cubs!"
