Ben Hildebrand is our Head Coach for our 18U BAEL Prep team.
Ben Hildebrand brings five years of coaching experience to the program, including two seasons as Head Coach of 15U AA, one season as Assistant Coach with 15U AAA, and two seasons as Head Coach of 18U AA. A proud Cubs alumni, Ben spent three years competing with the Cubs 18U AAA program, where he played primarily as an outfielder.
Ben’s coaching philosophy is rooted in hard work, focus, and being fully present in every moment. He believes that every rep is an opportunity to improve, and he strives to develop athletes who respect the game by playing it the right way—with discipline, effort, and integrity. While winning is rewarding, Ben values team growth above all else. His goal is always for players to leave each season better than they were the day they arrived, both on and off the field. He believes that when a team commits to strong values and consistent effort, winning naturally follows.
Ben began coaching simply out of a love for baseball and a desire to stay connected to the sport. He continues to coach because he’s passionate about passing that love of the game on to the next generation.
His focus for this upcoming season is player development—helping as many athletes as possible advance to higher levels of play, whether that’s university baseball or the Baseball Alberta Elite League (BAEL).
Outside of baseball, Ben is a student at the University of Calgary and works as an assistant at a law firm.
