Player Spotlight : Ara Siemens

If you’ve been watching the Cubs lately, chances are you’ve noticed #25 making things happen all over the diamond. Meet Ara Siemens — a versatile, driven ballplayer who brings skill, heart, and serious competitive energy to every game in our 15U AAA team.

Ara has been playing baseball for 6 years, and it shows. Whether she’s locking things down at shortstop, making plays at second base, or taking charge on the mound, Ara’s ability to step into multiple roles makes her a huge asset to the Cubs lineup.

One of the things Ara loves most about being a Calgary Cub is the pride that comes with representing her city — and of course, winning Tier 2 Provincials last season didn’t hurt either. Big moments are her thing.

Speaking of big moments, Ara’s most memorable achievement so far is winning silver and competing for Team Alberta at the Canada Summer Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland. That experience not only tested her skills at the national level, but also confirmed what the Cubs already know — she belongs on big stages.

Her favourite MLB player is Ernie Clement, a fitting choice for a player who values versatility and grit. Looking ahead, Ara has her sights set high, with a clear goal of playing for the Women’s National Team one day. With her work ethic and passion for the game, that dream feels well within reach.

Currently in Grade 10, Ara balances baseball with another sport she loves — volleyball — proving she’s an all-around athlete through and through.
