Zach Donovan’s baseball journey with our organization is one built on belief, resilience, and steady growth—and it has now led him to the next level.
Wearing jersey number 15 and anchoring the outfield, Zach has been a dedicated and trusted presence within the program for years. One of the most defining chapters of his time with us came last season at Provincials and Westerns. Entering both tournaments as underdogs, Zach and his teammates leaned into the challenge, relying on their preparation and belief in one another. The result—silver medals at both events—spoke volumes about the character of the group and the resilience they showed when it mattered most.
Throughout his time in the organization, Zach was shaped not only by competition, but by mentorship. Head Coach Jamie Mitchell played a pivotal role in his development, spending countless hours helping Zach refine his skills and strengthen his mental approach to the game. That trust and belief helped lay the foundation for the player Zach has become today.
Our organization also worked to prepare Zach for the realities of playing at the post-secondary level, bringing in former players who had gone on to compete in college baseball across Canada and the United States. Hearing firsthand what it takes to succeed at the next level gave Zach valuable perspective and helped him set clear goals for his own future.
Now, that future has arrived. Zach has earned a post-secondary roster spot with the Edmonton Collegiate Hawks, where he will continue both his baseball career and his studies in Business. This opportunity is a testament to his work ethic, consistency, and commitment to improvement throughout his time in our program.
As he moves on, Zach will be leaving behind more than just a uniform. He leaves with lasting relationships—teammates he’s grown alongside for years and memories built through shared challenges and successes.
Zach’s advice to younger players reflects the approach that brought him here: every day matters. Every rep is a chance to get better. Mistakes are part of the game—shake them off, learn from them, and be ready for the next opportunity.
We are proud to celebrate Zach Donovan and congratulate him on earning his place at the post-secondary level. His journey is a powerful example of what dedication, belief, and commitment to the process can achieve.
