Ian Finlay

Meet Coach Ian Finlay 15UAAA Head Coach and our 13U/15U Development Director

With 10 years of coaching experience, Ian Finlay has coached athletes at every level, from Little League Majors through university baseball. His coaching journey began by coaching his niece, and his passion for the game has continued to grow ever since.

Ian’s favourite part of coaching is watching young athletes experience that “light bulb moment” when the theory and practice finally click. He takes pride in helping players develop their skills, build confidence, and grow as athletes. One of his notable achievements was achieving 100% roster retention while coaching 15I, along with winning gold at the 2023 Alberta Summer Games with Zone 3.

In addition to his coaching role, Ian will serve as our 13U/15U Development Director, helping guide player development and support the growth of our athletes across these age groups. His experience and passion for helping young players reach their potential will be a valuable asset to our program.

Outside of baseball, Ian works as a Customer Care Technician with Calbridge Homes. He is a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, his favourite player is Yadier Molina, and he believes you can never go wrong with a good burger.

We’re excited to have Coach Ian’s experience and passion for player development as part of our coaching staff!
