Volunteer Commitment:

Teams require commitment on the part of all parents to volunteer and help out.

The success of any team sport relies on the contributions of many.  We believe that success does not necessarily mean that a team has to win all its games.  Development of each player to his/her fullest potential is the most important aspect.  Winning games will take care of itself.  However developing players to be the best they can be is a Team Effort.  Our coaches coach.  Our players play.  Our parents support the efforts of the players and coaches.   Success depends on our three pillars of strength. Coaches, Players, and Parents.  If all three do their part, the team will be successful.  If any of these three fail, then the team fails.  Therefore, to ensure success, we all need to pitch in.  Every parent is an important part of the team.  There are a number of areas that require your participation.  Team duties will be assigned at the first parents meeting.   The team may decide to assign individuals to several positions including, but not limited to the following:

Team Manager: Works with coaches and parents. Makes up team calendar and ensures team is well run
Equipment Manager: Looks after all equipment
Treasurer:  Monthly accounts with copies to parents, and a copy of final bank statement once account has been closed. Baseball
Calgary reserves the right to review a team's financial record, should any problems arise, of items questioned.
Parent Representative: Handles any coach, player, parent problem that may rise
Tournament Director: Organizes tournaments, and is co-chair of provincial round robin
Statistics Director: Records all player and team stats.
Scorekeepers: Records all games and teaches others for provincials
Webmaster: Maintains team's website
Phone Person: Contacts all players for upcoming events and games
Fund Raising Director: Organizes fundraising events to support team goals
Marketing Director: Communicates all information needed to news media and league participants, or communicates to the Association's VP of Marketing.
Grounds Keeper: Responsible for preparing and maintaining diamonds prior to and/or after games and practices.

All parents are expected to sign up for positions that will assist with events that are being sponsored by the organization.  As an organization, we need ensure that we make these events successful.  Please remember that our program is administered by volunteers, some of whom put in very long hours, so that your child can participate and learn about baseball.  Parents do your part and get involved!  Pick a task for yourself or team-up with another parent to share a responsibility.  You will make it happen, you will have fun in the process and you will make your child proud to know that you are playing an important role in the success of his/her team.
